Websites and apps are expensive to create. I mean, EXPENSIVE. Especially when you're not a techie.
I gotta gather some investors. I gotta spend their money wisely on strong builders-of-websites and journalism conventions. Then I gotta pay those investors back before I can relax. And I really wanna relax. So. What to do?
How Revenue Sharing at Oui3 Works
Oui3 is built on a simple promise:
the value created by readers, publishers, and advertisers must flow back to the people who create it.
To make this work, we use a three-coffer system:

Reader Coffer – payouts to readers who opt into ethical, consent-based advertising

Journalist & Publisher Coffer – revenue shares for the newsrooms and reporters producing the work

Oui3 Operating Coffer – funds for platform operations, growth, compliance, and investor repayment
How Each Part of Oui3 Is Funded
The Perpetual Purpose Trust
is sustained by the value created through readers and advertisers — the two groups who make the ethical ad ecosystem possible. Their participation directly funds the journalist and publisher coffer and supports the long-term independence of the platform.
Oui3 Inc. (the operating company)
is sustained by its share of revenue, which covers technical infrastructure, compliance, and platform development. This includes optional privacy-safe analytics for publishers and advertisers — always aggregated, never tracked, never personal.
Together, these structures ensure that:

no one’s data is ever surveilled or sold
Founding-Phase Revenue Sharing (Before Investors Are Fully Repaid)
To reward early adopters and support long-term sustainability, we start with a milestone-based structure:

(Note: Exact percentages may adjust slightly depending on infrastructure and compliance costs, but the structure and intent remain the same: readers and journalists grow in power as Oui3 scales, and we are honest and transparent.)
After We Reach 1 Million Readers
Once we hit one million readers:

The Reader and Journalist coffers remain at 50% + 30% (combined 80%)

Oui3’s operating coffer remains 20%
-
This structure continues until investors are fully repaid and the platform is financially self-sustaining.
Importantly:
Reader earnings are never used to pay investors.
Reader payouts remain reader payouts.
Investor repayment comes only from Oui3’s operating share.
After Investors Are Repaid
(Mission-Lock Phase)
After Oui3 is in the green and investor obligations are fulfilled:

Reader share increases by 5% per year, up to 60%

Journalists continue to receive 30% (unless the industry chooses to revise this under the Perpetual Purpose Trust)

Oui3 retains 10% for long-term operations and stewardship
Our long-term vision, pending approval by the governing journalist–publisher body, is to move toward:
70% Readers + 30% Journalists & Publishers, with Oui3 operating entirely at minimal steward-level funding.
This reflects our mission:
maximum value back to people, minimum overhead for structure.
Payout Caps & Equity of Access
To avoid disproportionate influence and to keep Oui3 accessible to all:

We are establishing reasonable payout caps per participant

Earnings are never tied to identity, only to voluntary, consented engagement

A team of financial advisors is helping design a system that is sustainable, fair, and antifragile.
Governance and the Perpetual Purpose Trust
Once Oui3 transitions into its Perpetual Purpose Trust, operational control shifts to:

journalists
-
publishers
-
representatives of the reader community
At that point, they decide how revenue should be divided — not investors, not shareholders, and not me.
