Oui3: A biome built to protect and sustain journalism.

Summer 2025.    I made yet another impulse purchase — glowing reviews, “limited-time offer,” it was late, I was tired and hungry.. A few months later I hear a scientist say the product could never have worked (duh!) and it hit me:

Why did I buy it?

Who shaped that decision?

Who controls the information I see, the reviews I trust, the ads pushed at me when I’m tired, stressed, or vulnerable?

I learned the truth: My data — every click, scroll, hesitation, and curiosity — was being siphoned off, shared, sold, and weaponized against me. Not by one company, but by a handful of giants who have their sticky little hands all over the web: Google, Meta, Amazon, Apple, X. And although they store my data, it isn’t theirs. It’s mine. And I never consented.

As a neurodivergent person, my attention is a scarce and precious resource. Yet in a world built by surveillance capitalism, my time — and everyone else’s — is hijacked constantly by pop-ups, offers, interruptions, and manipulative “nudges” designed to steal my attention and my retirement.

Worse: the systems we trust for honest shopping are corrupted. Recent FTC complaints exposed major retailers, including Amazon, for labeling full-priced or even overpriced items as “40% off” while quietly swapping in lower-quality products. False reviews. False urgency. False value.

You pay more.

You get less.

And the algorithm wins.

This isn’t just manipulative —it’s theft of agency.

How the Ad System Actually Works (and Why It’s Broken)

Every time you load a webpage, behind the scenes a real-time auction begins.

Your data — location, behavior, browsing history, device fingerprint — is broadcast to dozens or hundreds of bidders. Most of the money spent goes to middlemen: DSPs, SSPs, ad exchanges, data brokers, Google and Meta’s ad-tech layers.

Publishers and journalists get pennies. Readers get surveillance. Advertisers get fraud, bots, ghost impressions, and terrible targeting. Trust evaporates. And the worst part? Journalists don’t own the relationship with their own readers. Big Tech does. Their tags, pixels, and scripts sit silently on most newsroom websites, collecting more data about audiences than newsrooms ever see. This system: drains revenue from journalism, corrodes public trust, manipulates consumers, rewards misinformation, and disincentivizes quality reporting. It is structurally hostile to truth.

Oui3: The Antidote

Oui3 replaces surveillance-driven programmatic ads with a trust-owned, consent-based ecosystem where:

readers control their data

publishers own their audiences again

advertisers reach real humans, not bots

no surveillance scripts exist — ever

no third-party tracking enters the system

no cross-site dossiers are built

no middlemen siphon value

ad revenue flows to the people who actually create content

By removing every Big Tech tracking element — analytics tags, pixels, cookies, device fingerprints, hidden metadata — Oui3 turns each site into a true island of digital privacy. Even Google and Meta become blind.

For advertisers, attention becomes chosen, not stolen — yielding 20x–80x higher conversion rates.

For readers, consent becomes real.

For journalists, sustainability becomes possible again.

For democracy, truth has a fighting chance.

Why I Built It

Oui3 is my response to a digital world that never asked for my consent. It echoes the spirit of the Me Too movement: the fundamental idea that no one has the right to access your body or your data without permission. Oui3 isn’t Web2. It isn’t surveillance. It isn’t extraction. Oui3 + YOU is Web3: where individuals own their identity, their data, and their attention — and journalism finally gets the economic model it deserves.

This is a recapture of voice.

A return of power.

A sustainable biome built to nourish truth, not exploit it.

All About Me

I'm the idea girl, thoughts constantly churning and looking for new ways to shake old systems. I'm a big sister, a viciously strong patient advocate as a U.S. Army-trained operating room technologist, a new age healer (Reiki Master, Past Life Regression Hypnotist, Medical Biomagnetism student)... I was with the S.F.P.D. for a minute.  I'm a lover of plants and of animals and beachcombing. I'm an idealist, a comforter, a rare personality (INFJ), a believer in positive change and a steward for it. Oh, and I have anxiety about the environment, so please recycle. (:
